Responding to concerns on cybersquatting, the .ZA Domain Name Authority
(Zadna - the South African registry) has announced they will be
introducing new regulations in 2010.
"In .ZA, licensing regulations are expected to come into operation this year. The .ZA licensing regulations will allow Zadna to license the entities such as GOV.ZA and CO.ZA," Vika Mpisane, general manager of ZADNA told SAPA. He said it would also license the internet service providers that want to register or sell .ZA domain names.
The changes will see licensing of registrars and a more thorough checking of whether registrations comply with the registration rules.
