Wordpress was awarded ownership of four domain names by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center in a legal case against duanxiangwang of Shaodong.
The four domain name are : wirdpress.org,wordprees.org,wordprss.org and woordpress.org .Wordpress customers filed a complaint with WIPO,asserting that the confusingly similar domain names has been registered and used bad in faith,that duanxiangwang's conduct was unethical and that it would harm both Wordpress as well as its users .
The complainant is the owner of the "Wordpress" reademark.Therefore ,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to its trademark .
At the time of the filling of the complaint ,Wordpress users and potential users who mistakenly omitted a letter or wrote an extra letter when searching Wordpress,were providing
listings of hyperlinks, some of which lead to the websites of the Complainant’s competitors.
WIPO ruled in favor of Wordpress and ordered that it be awarded ownership of the disputed domain names .
