"Rumours are flying that Rod Beckstrom, former director of the US Homeland Security Department's National Cybersecurity Center, is the new CEO of ICANN," writes Milton Mueller on the Internet Governance blog.
While unconfirmed at the time of writing, it is expected whoever is the replacement for Paul Twomey will be announced at the Sydney ICANN meeting commencing on June 21.
Mueller's rumour that Beckstrom will be the next CEO comes from what he calls "well-informed" sources".
