University of Akron officials are looking into the advertised sale of the AkronZips.com name on a domain listing service.
Ken Torisky,The UA spokesman said that the university owns the Zips trademark,even though the university officials didn's know about AkronZips.com until last week.Burtonventures,which is the domain site owner has been trying to sell the domain name since December,stated Tim Bonehill,customer service manager for Afternic.The same Bonehill said the owner fo AkronZips.comset a $588 minimum offer for the domain name,which is,let's face it ,a small price.No buyers have made an offer on the AkronZips.com name. Only 17 visitors have viewed the AkronZips.com ad on Afternic.com in the past 30 days, Bonehill said.So it's a big opportunity for UA.
