.uk short domains - end of Registered Rights Sunrise phase

The deadline for submitting IP rights validation for the Registered Rights Sunrise phase for the release of short .uk domains closed on 31 January. Nominet rights validation agency are now completing work on the most recent applications.

On Monday 7 February Nominet will issue an update on Registered Rights Sunrise applications and announce details for the Unregistered Rights Sunrise phase.
Nominet opened the application process for some of the UK's most valuable domain names – those with single numbers, single letters and two letters - on 1st December 2010. There were 2831 'short' domains available for registration, including one character and two letter combinations that can be of great benefit to registered trade mark holders.
Once the Registered Rights sunrise phase is complete Nominet will begin an Unregistered Rights sunrise phase. If you are not eligible for this phase you can apply during the final landrush phase.
