Twitter has recently filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center,asserting legal rights over the disputed domain name Twiter.com .
According to whois records,Twiter.com was first registered in 2004,about 2 years before Twitter.com was launched.However,there were more than one registrant over the years .Twiter.com resolved to a Twitter similar looking site.Currently the website tries to obtain personal information .
Twitter owns many trademark registrations for the "twitter" mark. Therefore,it is more than obvious that the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its website .
The case is still waiting compliance checks with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center .
