DNJournal presented the third quarter domain name sales for 2011 . This year,the total dollar volume of all domain name sales reported in the third quarter is $25,5 Million ,8.5% increase over the same quarter a year ago .
This year,in the third quarter there was a seven figure domain name sale reported - Social.com,sold for $2.6 million,while in 3Q-2010 there were no seven-figure domain name sales reported .- For ccTLDs :
The total dollar volume for ccTLDs fell with $2 million (from $7 million in 3Q-2010 to $5 million 3Q-2011).
Compared to the previous quarter this year,3Q-2011 ccTLD sales are up with 4.6 percent.
- For non .COM gTLDs :
The total dollar volume for non .COM gTLDs fell from $3 million in 3Q-2010 to $2,54 in 3Q-2011 .
- For .COMs
The total dollar volume rise from $13,5 million in 3Q-2010 to $18 million in 3Q-2011.This means a 33 percent jump .
In this category,the median fell from $3,700 to $3,002 year over year .
