The Washington Post acquired SocialReader.com domain name for an undisclosed amount of money for its Social Reader newspaper application .
Even though the newspaper launched the application a month ago,they managed to get hands on the domain name only now .According to whois records,SocialReader.com has been transferred to The Washington Post on October 14,2011.The Washington Post is not the only company that first launched a product or a service and after decided to acquire the domain name.Take for example Apple who,even though owns the trademark for iPad,it still doesn't own the iPad.com domain name .Perhaps Apple was just being very careful not to draw attention to its multimedia devices names when they decided not to go after iPad.com domain name.However,Apple released the first iPad in April 2010.Therefore,it's been more than a year since Apple launched the device and the company still doesn't own iPad.com .
