The number of domain names registered in the UZ zone exceeded 11,000 .According to statistics on the website of the UZ domain zone administration,59 percent of all the domain names registered so far were registered by legal entities while only 41 percent were registered by individuals.
At present, seven official UZ domain registrars operate in Uzbekistan: Tomas, Amaliy Aloqalar Biznesi, Sarkor Telecom, Billur Com, TV-Inform, Arsenal-D and Simus of Ferghana.
In 2006,there were only 2,696 .ZU domain names registered,while in 2007 there were 3,615.Moreover,the growth in domain names in 2009 was about 26 percent .
The Center for development and introduction of computer and information technologies UZINFOCOM administers the top-level domain UZ.
