Sedo is hosting a Pre-Auction for new 1, 2, and 3-character .de domains from now through Thursday, Oct. 22nd at 12 PM EDT.
This Pre-Auction gives Sedo members an exclusive advantage to bid on 1, 2 and 3-character .de domains before they are released from DENIC, the official registry of the .de country code top-level domains (ccTLD). Not only is this a big deal for Sedo’s German clients, but it’s also a great opportunity for international investors to own the most sought after ccTLD domains on the market! After the Pre-Auction , DENIC will open the bidding up to a vast array of businesses and end users at 9 AM Central European Time (CET) October 23rd. By working through Sedo's Pre-Auction, you'll be first in line to claim one of these premium .de domains upon their release!
Sedo will work to register the domains with the highest bids through its network of registrar partners on October 23rd. After receiving payment the domain will be transferred via Sedo’s escrow service to the winning bidder. If we are unable to register the domain right away Sedo‘s brokerage team will work to purchase the domain on your behalf based on your highest bid.
With the buzz surrounding the release of these names, we are expecting a highly competitive Pre-Auction .

Check out the new .de domain criteria :
- One, two, and three-character domains (letter and number combinations) can now be registered
- German license plate letter combinations are now available for TLD registration
- A domain may be comprised of the digits 0-9, hyphens, the letters A-Z of the Latin alphabet and the other letters listed in the currently valid annex to the Domain Guidelines
- The domain cannot begin or end with a hyphen, nor have hyphens for its third and fourth characters
- Domains must be at least one character in length
