SIDN,the registry for . nl ,has recently announced that a new version of the registration system will be introduced starting February 2010.
With this new system ,the registration of .nl domain name becomes faster and simpler.The new version of the registration system will be named DRS5.
"When we will enter use the new system, it will no longer be necessary to sign a form and send it in to your registrar when making certain important amendments to your domain name’s registration. So if, for example, you want to have a different registrar look after your domain name’s registration, or you want to change who is recorded as the registrant, or cancel the registration, it will be much quicker and simpler to do so.
When the new system comes in, your registrar will be able to arrange the cancellation of a registration or change a domain name’s registrant without a signed form. If you decide to move your domain name to another registrar, you will need to get an authorisation code from your ‘old’ registrar. The new arrangements will bring .nl into line with various other leading domains around the world, such as .eu, .com and .org, which operate on the same basis. "
