The recent rapid growth in registrations of the .mx, the country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) for Mexico, has astounded many. Initially, it took over 15 years for the .mx extension to reach 100,000 registrations, but over the past 3 years alone that number has more than doubled. The influx of interest can most likely be attributed to the increase in awareness and usage of the internet throughout Mexico.For businesses around the world and specifically those located in Mexico, the .mx extension enables them to establish their brand identity and products to the targeted visitors that .mx domains attract. Yet at the same time, while capitalizing on the local and targeted internet users, they are able to draw potential customers on a global level without any additional effort
