Sedo Featured on National Public Radio

With all the recent news about an economic downturn, it’s comforting to know that the domain industry is still thriving. Check out NPR’s (National Public Radio) coverage of Sedo this week: Competition Remains Hot for Web Domain Names. In the article, Sedo’s COO Jeremiah Johnston explains why conditions are prime for new buyers to join the marketplace.
“Like real real-estate there is a scarcity to domains. So the fact that there are only so many available words out there to turn into domains brings a value to each of these properties,” he said. Still in doubt? Last year Sedo sold telecom.com for $700,000 and team.com went for $300,000. Plus new opportunities to monetize domains are popping up with the release of hot Top-level Domains like .asia and .mobi (mobile web). While traditional industries are scaling back, Sedo continues to be the world leader in the secondary domain market.
