Registration of second level .cr domain names commenced on March 3. Registration of names at the second level is in addition to the existing .co.cr, .or.cr, .fi.cr, .ac.cr, .go.cr, .ed.cr and .sa.cr.
Registrations at the second level are subject to their own policies and prices. For 90 days from March 3, present domain holders have the option of registering the same name at the second level. If there are two or more bodies wanting to register the same name, the eligible registrant who applies for the name first will be the successful registrant.
