Following last week's operation,when authorities seized 131 domain names that were believed to sell or share pirated content,now the US authorities seized other eleven domains of Korean movie portals .
According to Torrent Freak,this is the ninth phase of "Operation in Our Sites" ,the largest anti-piracy campaign to date.All the domain names were related to Korean movie portals.This is the first action of this kind that targets a range of websites that are not directed at the United States public .Here are the eleven domains seized by US authorities : 007disk.com, 007disk.net, 82movie.com, 82movie.net, 82us.com, bzserv.info, itvwmg.com, ktvwmg.com ,wmgitv.com, wmgus.com, wmgus.net.
A banner appears on all the seized website ,that say :
"This domain name has been seized by ICE - Homeland Security Investigations,pursuant to a seizure warrant issued by a United States District Court under the authority of 18 U.S.C. 981 and 2323 .
Willful copyright infringement is a federal crime that carries penalties for first time offenders of up to five years in federal prison,a $250,000 fine,forfeiture and restitution.Intentionally and knowingly trafficking in counterfeit good is a federal crime that carries penalties or first time offenders of up to ten years in federal prison ,a $2,000,000 fine forfeiture and restitution"
US authorities has seized until now more than 350 domain names as part of the "Operation In Our Sites".
