Russia’s IDN for .RF ,.РФ received more than 200,000 domain name registrations in just a few hours.
In order to register a .рф domain you have to be a Russian citizen or legal Russian entity. This is a big step for Russia.In order to use the Internet,Russian users had to type in Latin characters.However,from now on Russian users can use the Internet easier,using their Cyrillic language.
Moreover,the domain names must not contain obscene words,or words that can be inhumane or offensive to human dignity.
Launch of the Landrush was yesterday,at 12:00 pm Moscow time.This means that in less than six hours,200,000 .РФ passed 200,000 domain registration .
