Number of .ro domain names reached 435,000

The total number of Romanian domain names is continuing to grow,according to Romanian Top Level Doma­ins. 2010 started with a total of 435,000 domain names registrations.This represents a growth of 25 percent over the same period of last year.
Flaviu Radulescu, general manager of Hostway Romania said: "From our reports,even though 2009 recorded an increase in registrations for .ro,the growth was 30 percent lower compared to 2008.We estimate that this trend is representative of general market developments."

The increasing number of Romanian sites seems to be closely related to the incresing number of Internet users.
Gheorghe Serban,executive director of the National Association of Internet Service Providers (ANISP),believes that regardless this financial crisis,Romanian Internet is booming.
"Romanian Internet will increase.Not only the traffic will increase by at least 20%-25% ,but also the customers number will increase by at least 10% -15%," concluded the Director ANISP.
