NIC México Publishes new .mx Rules

Monterrey, NL., 13 de Marzo de 2009.- NIC México (Network Information Center México), publishes the documents in which are described all the details of the rules for the next Reopening of domain name registrations directly under .MX.

The documents have the objective to establish the lineaments and procedures under which the .MX Re-opening process will be conducted. NIC México has published them with the intention to communicate to general public the detailed description of each one of the elements involved in this process.

The published documents are the following:

1. Rules for the .MX Re-opening: This document describes in detail the requirements to the
applicants; the details of the technical and business processes; and considerations and
dispositions in each one of the 3 phases that will allow the .MX Re-opening.

2. Reserved .MX Domain Names: This document contains the list of the Domain Names that
can not be used to register as domain names directly under .MX.

3. Objection Procedure: Through this procedure it will be possible to request the review of
the assignment of a Domain Name directly under .MX undertaken during the Sunrise
period (pre-registration period). The procedure will be available to the Registrants that
would have applied for the registration of the same name.

4. Objection Procedure Format: This format must be filled out to start the application of
the Objection Procedure.

5. Modification of the Registry .MX Policies for the .MX Re-opening: This document is an
integral part of the Lineaments .MX and will be applicable during the Re-opening Process
of registration of Domain Names directly under .MX in what is related to the application,
registration and management of the referred Domain Names; it is important to state that
this document only establishes the modifications of the Domain Names General Policies of
the Registry .MX during the Re-opening Process; nevertheless the Domain Names General
Policies of the Registry .MX will still be applicable at all times, exception made to the
modifications set up in this document.
