Jetlag, the bane of my life. Since arriving back from Paris and Domainermeeting I've been laid flat by huge volumes of work, tests for my pilots license and family commitments. These have all been neatly wrapped up with the worst case of jetlag that I've ever experienced.

I've been feeling pretty guilty about not continuing some of the series of articles that I've started but one of the things that jetlag does to you is rob you of a desire to do anything. A nice blob would describe my mind perfectly. I wouldn't trust anything that I wrote while under the duress jetlag time let alone subject you to it. Seeing that that I'm now writing this article it must mean that I'm finally getting back into my home time zone, thank goodness!

According to Steve Edelson, director of the San Diego-based research and education group, this is the first .mobi Web site created and maintained by a national autism organization, and is in response to consumers’ desire for “practical” mobile content.

China’s .cn now stands alone atop the list of the largest country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLDs) in the world. It has shot past Germany (.de) at an alarming rate, with between 400,000 and 500,000 registrations occurring per month. With this extraordinary growth, the only Top-Level Domain ( TLD) that exceeds .cn is the omnipresent .com TLD.

The extreme growth in the .cn ccTLD can be attributed to the recent move into the international spectrum, as opposed to being restricted solely to China. Prior to this shift in capacity, .cn domain names were only allowed to be registered by businesses with a physical presence in the country of China. Now, the.con domains are open to the rest of the world, creating heavy demand for .cn domains on a global level.

If domain names were considered food, then registrars would be comparable to restaurants in which domainers dine. A domain name registrar is a company accredited to register domain names by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and/or by a national country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD). There are literally thousands of registrars to choose from when starting out in assembling a domain name portfolio, so how does one distinguish between them? In my opinion, there are a few factors that should be considered when deciphering which registrars would be considered a worthwhile dining experience:

Active ImageThe effect of new ICANN's recent rule change that will allow for new TLDs is addressed in this article on Circle ID by John Levine. Levine says "that almost without exception, the new TLDs created since 2000 have been utter failures. Other than perhaps .cat and .mobi."

"TLDs stopped being important about the time ICANN started."
