sedo_cares_110x75.jpgThe SedoCares’ “Wishing Well” Promotion is well on its way with over $7,000 already contributed into the “Wishing Well” through Sedo. The amount of positive response the promotion is receiving has exceeded our expectations and we are excited to see the overall success of the "Wishing Well" do the same!

As a Sedo member, you still have the chance to participate in the promotion. This month, when you take part in a transaction through Sedo’s marketplace you will automatically be in the running to win the cash prize. So, the more you buy or sell the more chances you have to win! Even those who don't win cash will be part of a bigger cause to build a new well for an Ethiopian village in need of clean water.

Only the athletes themselves will be allowed to register their names. The move is aimed at preventing the commercial exploitation of sports people's names. In 2004, a controversy erupted over the commercial use of the names of gold medalists at the Athens Games, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) said.  Read more at: China Daily

Officials at Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet in Boulder were shocked when they recently discovered that their Web site had disappeared off the face of the Internet. “We had bought the domain name from NameSecure, which is kind of ironic,” said Jenifer Sher, the ballet company’s executive director. “I guess it must have expired, but we didn’t receive any renewal notices.” To make matters worse, Sher couldn’t send or receive e-mails, because her address was tied to the Web site. Sher, who admits she isn’t tech-savvy, was flustered and in disbelief but unfortunately for her, this is a common issue that could have easily been prevented.

How do you prevent losing your domain name? Several simple but effective tips are revealed in an article recently published by Rocky Mountain News.
