The AFNIC Consultative Committee adopted a new format for its latest meeting with user members and member registrars, which took place on Friday, 4 March 2011.
After a debate held in the morning within each college, user members and member Registrars met in the afternoon to discuss the major projects underway.
Previously AFNIC consultative committee meetings were held over two days, with user members meeting on day 1 and member Registrars the following day. Consultative Committee meetings are now held on one day, with discussions and debates organised in the afternoon between the two types of members.
The Consultative Committee meeting held on 4 March provided an opportunity to discuss the projects related to:
- new services i.e. multi-year registration, promotional tariff offers, offsetting maintenance billing, scheduling the closure of e-mail / web services, and scheduling the EPP switchover
- registry policy i.e. organising workshops on registry policies, opening to IDNs, and the French government bill on the new section L45 of the Postal and Electronic Communications Code further to the decision of the Constitutional Council
The discussions in the Consultative Committee meeting will serve as input for the next AFNIC Board meeting to be held on April 8.
