Dot VN announced recently that since the official launch of the vietnamese IDNs on April 28,2011,registrations exceeded 150,000 domains .
The number of registrations has far exceed everybody expectations . In less than five days,there were already 101,000 registrations .
From 28 April 2011,any individuals and organization can register free domain names in the Vietnamese language on a "first come first served" basis .
The rules are that one individual can only register five Vietnamese domain names.Moreover,they can also use a free email at mail.vn .
Many people complained that it's not such an easy task to apply for a domain name and it may take up to an hour to register one ,due to the growing demand .
"As the master registrar of the Vietnamese IDNs, our goal with the IDN program is to offer registrants everything they need to get started using the internet immediately.Based on our current growth, it is possible that we may surpass the total number of standard ".vn" registrations in the coming weeks thereby effectively doubling the size of the Vietnamese Internet. In order to continue this trend, Dot VN will redouble its efforts to provide the very best services and applications to each and every customer of the Vietnamese native language internet," said Dot VN President Lee Johnson.
