Microsoft has been granted the rights to three Bing domain names .The company submitted a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum, asserting legal rights over the disputed domain names.
The three disputed domain names are : bingtrends.com, bingrental.com and bingrentals.com .
The software giant owns many trademark registrations all over the world for the "Bing" mark. Therefore, the company contended that the disputed domain names is confusingly similar to its trademark.
Moreover,Microsoft contended that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain names in bad faith :
"Respondent is gaining commercially from the operation of the <bingrentals.com> domain name, which constitutes bad faith registration and use.Respondent’s disputed domain name resolves to a directory site offering links to third party businesses unrelated to Complainant. "
"Respondent’s failure to actively use the <bingtrends.com> and <bingrental.com> domain names constitutes bad faith registration and use. "
The respondent failed to submit a response in this proceeding .
The Panel ordered the disputed domain names be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
