Lancome and L'Oreal team up in domain name case

Lancome and L'Oreal filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center ,requesting the transfer of two domain names: lancomeblog.com and lorealblog.com.

It is well known that L'Oreal and Lancome are the owners of numerous L'Oreal and Lancome trademarks registered all over the world.
The complainants content that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to their trademarks. Moreover, they say the respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in the domain names. In the complaint, the complainants further contend that "the Respondent is not affiliated with the Complainants in any way, the Complainants have not authorized the Respondent to use and register their trademarks or to seek the registration of any domain name incorporating said marks, the Respondent has never used the terms “l’oréal” or “lancôme” in any way before or after the Complainants started their business, the Respondent is not known under the names “l’oréal” or “lancôme” or any similar name and, while the domain names at issue contain the Complainants’ well-known trademarks as well as the word “blog”, the domain names have never been used in relation to any blog but are linked to websites with pay-per-click advertising links.
Th respondent, represented by MyFashionFiesta.com says that he wanted to use the two domain names to create blogs discussing the complainants products and services.
All in all it seems that the respondent didn't have enough proves to demonstrate his intentions. Therefore the Panel decided the two disputed domain names lancomeblog.com and lorealblog.com to be transferred to the complainants.
