The British high fashion house,Jimmy Choo Ltd. ,has filed for arbitration to get the jimmychoolife.com domain name . Jimmy Choo Ltd. filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center requesting the domain name jimmychoolife.com to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
The British high fashion house is the registered proprietor of the "Jimmy Choo" mark .Therefore,they contended that the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its trademark.
Moreover,they contended that the respondent ,registered and used the domain name in bad faith.
The Panel decided that the respondent was trying to gain personal profit on the strength of a registered trademark and ruled in favor of Jimmy Choo in this case.
