Apple bought a while ago the iTun.es domain name.However,at that moment no one could tell why Apple acquired this domain name.
Rumors were saying back then that the iTun.es domain name will be used for link shortening.And it seems that they were right .Today Apple uses the iTun.es domain name as a domain link shortener.The domain name is being used by Apple as a link shortener for iTunes URLs on Twitter.
