The Internet has evolved from a technology, principal developed for computer and networking research, to a global medium for communication, information sharing, commerce and education.

As a matter of fact, the internet is now radically influencing the economic growth of countries; a recent Seoul declaration, on the "Future of Internet Economy", declared during the OECD ministerial meeting to exemplify how developed regions would strengthen their capacity through the internet highway. Two of the most critical resources, representing the present form of the internet are the IP addresses and domain names.
These two resources act as a spinal cord to the internet structure, helping machines and human to interact with each other over the internet. Domain names, at the top level, are categorised as gTLDs (generic Top Level Domains) like .com, .net, mobi, .org and ccTLDs (country code Top Level Domains) like.uk.pk .au .in. The rapid increase in Internet use around the world is leading to an explosive increase in the use of' the country code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs).
