The 42nd ICANN meeting ,to be held in Dakar,Senegal is underway.The meeting will be held from 23 to 29 October,2011.
One of the main issues to be discussed at this meeting will be the introduction of new gTLDs in 2012.The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is planning to accept applications for the new TLDs on January 12,2012.Among the attendees are ICANN management,Verisign executives,government staff and many other internet stakeholders.
Afnic will also reveal its technical offer to applicants wishing to obtain new gTLDs at the ICANN meeting in Dakar.
DCA is also attending the meeting.They are going to lend their views on the new challenges affecting the African Internet community .
