ICANN announced that effective July 1,2011 the application fee for submitting an ICANN accreditation application will be increased .
ICANN Accreditation Application will be increased from $2,500 to $3,500 .Therefore,all the applications received by ICANN on or after 1 July 2011 will cost $3,500 .
The decision was made to offset the costs for ICANN to conduct additional due diligence checks on applicants ,such as :
- Criminal Records
- Credit Records
- Financial History and Solvency
- Corporate/company structure and ownership
In order to conduct these reviews ICANN will have to use external resources .
These additional steps ICANN has to perform are the results of the community input .
