ICANN wants to launch the New TLD Program as soon as possible.Therefore,they intend to approve the New TLD Guidebook at its San Francisco Meeting ,scheduled for 13-18 Marchc2011.
The ICANN Board "intends to progress toward launching the New gTLD Program, as close as practically possible to the form as set out in the Proposed Final Applicant Guidebook."
This is great news for everyone who wished for some time now to apply for a new TLD.
Moreover,ICANN announced that they want the final GAC consultation to take place on Thursday, 17 March 2011during the ICANN SV/SF meeting.
If everything is OK,ICANN will start accepting application most probably in late August or early September .
