ICANN Names Award-Winning Broadcast News Veteran as Senior Director of Communications

ICANN logoICANN has named Jim Trengrove as its Senior Director of Communications.

Trengrove is well-familiar with ICANN, having produced and consulted on strategic communications issues for the organization since 2009 through his company, the Barnaby Woods Group.

“I am delighted to announce that Jim Trengrove has officially joined ICANN as Senior Director of Communications,” said Barbara Clay, ICANN’s Vice President of Communications.  “He will serve as my deputy in all capacities.” 

An award-winning television journalist, Trengrove spent 21 years as Senior Producer of Politics at the The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer (PBS).  He is a three-time recipient of the Joan Barone Shorenstein Awards for Washington-based Reporting as well as the Everett McKinley Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress.  Prior to the NewsHour, Trengrove produced local television news in Chicago and Washington D.C.

Jim Trengrove began his new position on 14 September.  He is based in Washington D.C.
