ICANN committee voted in Cartagena to approve the .Communism gTLD with 45 votes for and only 5 against.
It seems that the new gTLD will be launched in January 2011.
Sergei Putanov ,one of the .Communism gTLD sponsors is a Russian domain name investor who supports the new gTLD.
According to domaingang.com ,this approval comes when people commemorate 87 years since the passing of Vladimir Lenin.
