ICANN announced recently that the IDN ccTLD request from Kazakhstan has successfully passed the String Evalution .
The IDN ccTLD Fast Track Process was approved at ICANN annual meeting in Seoul,South Korea on 30 October 2009 by ICANN Board. Both the request and evaluation process have three steps :- Preparation
- String Evaluation
- String Delegation
With the completion of String Evaluation on IDN ccTLD string for Kazakshtan ,a total of 28 countries requests passed successfully through the String Evaluation.
In order to successfully complete the String Evaluation,IDN ccTLD requesters must fulfill some requirements :
- the script used to represent the IDN ccTLDs must be non-Latin;
- the languages used to express the IDN ccTLDs must be official in the corresponding country or territory; and
- a specific set of technical requirements must be met (as evaluated by an external DNS Stability Panel comprised of DNS and IDN experts).
