The number of Internet users who are now using the Russia’s IDN for .RF ,.РФ have almost passed the 800,000 milestone.The number is increasing at a slow rate .However, more and more users show interest in .РФ domain names .
Even though,in less than a week since .рф was opened for general registration,more than 500,000 .рф domain names have been registered ,six registrars were being accused of registering tens of thousand .РФ premium domain names.Russia's most popular registrar,Nic.ru seems to have registered about 26 percent of all .РФ domain names,meaning about 65,000 domains,within the first days of the .РФ launch.
In order to register a .рф domain you have to be a Russian citizen or legal Russian entity.
To date,the total number of domain names registered in . РФ is : 799,357 .
