Hitachi,the Japanese multinational corporation, will apply and hopefully will operate the new top level domain name .hitachi .
Even though the Japanese corporation made no official announcement,GMO Registry INC announced that they formed a partnership agreement with Hitachi to apply and operate new gTLD .hitachi .
GMO also states in the news release that "many global corporations have announced intentions to secure their company or brand name as a gTLD in order to strengthen their online identity."
