Google to Unveil New Ad Management, Internet Use Tools

E-mail Print

Active Image An interesting new tool from Google, possibly set to be released as soon as next week, is an ad measurement tool to measure internet use, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The new tool, assuming it works, could make significant inroads to existing businesses such as comScore and Nielsen, the market leaders. Existing services use tracking panels to monitor internet use, but there are concerns as to the effectiveness of these. "And unlike the services from comScore and Nielsen, Google's will be offered to marketers free, according to ad executives."

"Google's new tool could bring more efficiency to the process of buying online ads, ad executives" have told WSJ.

In addition to the above new tool, the WSJ reports "Google this week is expected to roll out a new tool aimed at showing how Web surfers respond to online ads. It will compare groups of people who are exposed to an ad with others who haven't seen it, taking into account such factors as search activity and site visitation."
