An arbitrator with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center has awarded the domain name GoogleLike.com to Google. The company submitted a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center on June 20, 2011 ,asserting legal rights over the disputed domain name .
Google owns many trademark registrations for the "Google" mark.Therefore,they contended that the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its trademark.Moreover,they contended that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith.
" The Respondent registered the disputed Domain Name which is deceptively and confusingly similar to the Complainant’s trademark with the sole intention of attracting for commercial gain Internet users to the website by creating a likelihood of confusion with the Complainant’s trademark as to the source, sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement of the website."
The respondent failed to submit a response in this proceeding .
The Panel ordered the disputed domain name be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
