Google,an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies just won a domain name case.
Google filed a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum requesting the transfer of the disputed domain name,pagerankglobal.com .
Having a "pagerank" mark registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office,Google claims rights over the domain name.
In the complaint the complainant sustains that the domain name does not resolve to an active website. The only thing posted there is a phone number.Google further contends that the phone number listed is linked to a spam scheme, disseminating unsolicited fax messages.
Moreover, the Panel decided that the respondent used the domain name in bad faith. He used to pass itself off as an “Authorized Google Specialist” .
Therefore, the Panel decided the disputed domain name to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
