Google is quite secretive on the number of advertisers it has, but "in
a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Google
said it had 1 million advertisers as of 2007," reports the New York Times.
This number, as The Times says, is likely to much higher now with the
number of advertisers having grown "from 89,000 in 2003, to 201,000 in
2004, 360,000 in 2005 and 600,000 in 2006."
The Times also quotes "Ben Schachter, an analyst with UBS, said he
expects the current number is likely to be between 1.3 million and 1.5
million. Google declined to comment on the current size of its
advertising base."
