GMO Registry to Partner with Canon to Apply for “.canon” Domain

GMO Internet Group company, GMO Registry today announces it will work together with Canon to apply for and operate the new generic Top Level Domain, “.canon”.

On March 16, Canon revealed plans to acquire the new gTLD, “.canon”. The new Canon brand TLD would enable the company toits online identity globally with an intuitive TLD that is easier to remember than “canon.com” and other existing domain names.
GMO Registry was built on the domain industry expertise and system design and operation technology of the GMO Internet Group. Canon chose to partner with GMO Registry to apply for and operate its new gTLD based on the group’s industry experience and excellent reputation in technology.
