The Georgian ccTLD, .GE, has achieved 8,000 domain name
registrations, a minor total compared to many, but an achievement
nonetheless.
According to a report in The Financial, in 2006 7,000 .GE domains were
registered in Georgia while in three years the number of registered
domains increased by a rate of 12.5 per cent.
According to the report, registration rules are quite restrictive for
.GE domains with restrictions on transferring and sale of domain names,
both of which are not allowed, although there appear to be ways around
for those who know.
