ProGolfer.com - A Journey Into Selling a Domain
Posted by Michael Gilmour , Monday, 14 April 2008
So what happened with the progolfer.com sale....well.....I'm embarrassed to say that absolutely nothing has moved forward. I was working with one of the major online auction houses and found that it was impossible to get a link from them in a timely fashion so that I could promote the sale of progolfer.com to the world.

I naively had visions of a Google adwords campaign, contacting various golf sites and golf brands to offer the domain for sale. All I would have to do is let them know about the domain auction via the link and then watch the action unfold. All to no avail....

Sample ImageIn a fit of frustration some of you may have seen that I've even been playing around with a plug-in for Joomla so that I could have my own auction system. After working with the developers in Romania it looks as though it's nearly there! Fingers cross.

So here I am temporarily stumped in my efforts to try and sell progolfer.com as a part of my research project in domain valuations. The crazy thing is that it should be something that is really easy to implement.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on what I should do then please let me know! If you have any offers then they wouldn't go astray either. :-)
