Nominet is the Internet Registry for .uk domain names. Their annual meeting was held yesterday, 30 April 2008. The outcome of the meeting, including the heated election for non-executive directors and the controversial special resolutions, has been announced.
The outcome of the meeting is as follows:
Jim Davies and Gordon Dick were elected to serve on the Board of Nominet for a period of two years. Nominet congratulates both of them.
All of the Resolutions and Special Resolutions passed, with the exception of the highly disputed Special Resolution 6. Special Resolution 6 would have allowed the board to appoint two non-executive directors, rather than the directors being elected by the membership.
You can find detailed results of the number of votes cast for and against each resolution here.
