A new international Handbook on Domain Name Law has been published. The “Handbuch des Domainrechts” is an updated German version of the international Handbook “Domain Name Law and Practice”which was published by Oxford University Press in 2005. It was edited and written by leading experts in the fields of domain name dispute resolution and trade mark law from around the world.

The Domain Name Handbook provides a comprehensive analysis of the law and practice relating to Internet domain names at an international level and assembles detailed information about the registration of domain names at national, regional and international levels and strategic guidance on how to manage domain names as part of an overall brand strategy.

A particular strength of the book are its 20 country reports including the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, China, and Russia by renowned foreign experts in the field of domain name law, each presenting an approx. 25 – 50 page overview of the registration system, analysis of case law and out-of-court dispute settlement proceedings under the respective ccTLD. Also of major practical importance is a clear and systematic presentation of the UDRP Panelists decisions as well as decisions of domain name conflicts under the TLD .EU.
