Guest Post: The Ideology of DNZoom: Part II (By Dan Kimball, DNZoom by Bido)

In my last post I wrote about how DNZoom came into existence and the different factors that played a role in the development of getting it off the ground.

Now, I think it pertinent to focus on the present ideology of DnZoom.

Sample ImageAbout six months ago, we announced our partnership with Bido.com . As some of you may know, Bido.com is owned by Recall Media Group , which is comprised of Sahar Sarid, Darren Cleveland, and Jeff Bhavnanie (along with their great staff in Russia and beyond.)

The story goes something like this: DNZoom was a great, fresh domain management tool, and we were already breaking ground with the level of automation we achieved with our registrar and parking partners , but we saw the opportunity to do more. We knew we could manage domains, but what about bringing about total automation for the life cycle of domains? We saw the potential to bring the process of buying, managing, and selling domains full circle. If we could wrap management, registrations, aftermarket auction ability, and escrow for those sold domains into one place, then we could really push forward the consolidation of the most used domain providers into one application.

Enter Bido.com .

We had known of the founders of Bido.com well before we had learned about Bido.com itself. They had successfully compiled one of the best privately held portfolios in the domain realm today, launched and developed
funeralhomes.com into a thriving business, and had completed many other projects (with several more in the pipeline). In short, they were a sharp group of guys who can’t rest until they’ve accomplished everything they set their minds to.

If we were to combine forces (so to say) and then bring the Bido.com auction system full force ahead, paired with the management and reporting capabilities of DNZoom.com, we knew we would have a winning application on our hands. So, that’s exactly what we did.

Bido.com, a one-domain-a-day auction platform, is the brainchild of the great folks at Recall Media Group (RMG.) Bido.com encompasses a live auction system that we have grown so used to at the domaining shows, yet chooses only “choice” names (the first batch of names has been announced — you can be sure to find even higher profile domains for auction as the weeks go on). We do the dirty work for you, hand picking the best names so you don’t have to wade through endless lists of “mystery” domains, then put those names into a one-domain-a-day auction, add domaining experts from all walks of life to comment on those names, and allow winning auctions to be paid for through the Bido.com system. Oh, and did I mention after that is all said and done, the names can be managed through DNZoom sharing the same login you used to bid on Bido.com.

As I write this, we are finishing up our last edits on Bido.com. It has come a long way in the last few months, with new ideas being implemented daily. The integration with DNZoom.com has been completed, and we are now in countdown mode.

Bido is coming!!! Don’t miss it!
