ICANN is seeking to appoint an independent evaluator to undertake a review of the ICANN Board. The request for proposal can be found here.

The review is designed to determine: (i) whether the Board is fulfilling its purpose in the ICANN structure; and (ii) if so, whether any change in structure or operations is desirable to improve its effectiveness.

The RFP should be read in conjunction with the Terms of Reference for Independent Review of the ICANN Board found at http://www.icann.org/reviews/icann-board-review-20sep07.pdf).

Microsoft has announced it is suing a company run by a Dutch mothers because it had begun using a Microsoft brand in its domain name. And what was this anti-Microsoft company doing? Well, developing computer programmes aimed at curbing children's use of the internet.
