The fashion store chain,Republic acquired the domain name Republic.com for $200,000 back in September,2011 .Now the company told the media why they felt the need to acquire Republic.com,since they had Republic.co.uk domain name .
According to RetailGazette.co.uk , Republic also bought the .EU address .
The sale was brokered by Sedo .
"We are aware that our consumers are digital natives, so we want to do everything we can to increase our web traffic, which is why we are thrilled to have a comprehensive domain name strategy," said Jo Molineux, Head of Multichannel at Republic.
“Acquiring these two key top level domains will be critical to the success and contribute directly to increased sales. With Sedo’s help, purchasing the domains themselves was relatively quick and easy," he added .
