EURid has recently announced that its operations will become a little “greener”.
In the spring of 2010, EURid’s mirror site will be hosted by the TelecityGroup in Amsterdam, at a data centre committed to energy efficiency. The provider was selected because of the security it affords, but also for its endorsement of the EU Stand-by Initiative, the European Actions to Improve the Energy Efficiency of Electrical Equipment while either OFF or in Stand-by.
“It’s very satisfying to see that we can continue to do our work, yet have a lesser impact on the environment,” said General Manager Marc Van Wesemael.
