EURid will be running a marketing initiative this autumn to promote European online identity and the .eu top-level domain to students.
The campaign will consist of a tour of three universities: Lessius Hogeschool in Antwerp (Belgium), the University of Pisa (Italy) and the Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic), on the occasion of events taking place for students participating in the ERASMUS exchange scheme. EURid will give a presentation to the students and a booth will be set up on site. Students will be invited to register a free .eu domain on the spot. Those who register a domain will be provided with a tool to build a website as well as email addresses.
Eurid goal with this initiative is to reach some 1 100 ERASMUS students, as they believe that the ERASMUS programme and .eu share some core values: both reflect the idea of a European identity, both promote intra-European mobility and both can help bridge the digital divide.
