Escorts.com may soon be available after the owners of the domain, National A-1 Advertising Inc. and R.S. Duffy Inc., agreed to plead guilty to money laundering conspiracy, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday, reports XBIX.
The domain name is still registered to Duffy however the website displays a simple message of "This Domain Is Not In Use" and nothing else.
"A plea agreement filed Tuesday at U.S. District Court in Williamsport, Pa., said the companies have agreed to forfeit nearly $5 million, pay a $1.5 million fine and serve 18 months probation," says the XBIZ report noting that the owners of the company have forfeited the domain, which they owned for four years.
"The case against Escorts.com appears to be the first successful prosecution against an online escort site."
